Your Questions, Answered

  • I'm a San Francisco-based painter and spiritual director. My paintings are abstracted figurative works, primarily of women, exploring what it means to be fully alive. I use layered, intuitive processes with fluid mediums and oil paint. My work is inspired by the spiritual journey and shaped by two decades working in community development and spiritual formation.

  • Original paintings can be purchased directly through the shop on my website. If you have questions before purchasing or would like additional photos, reach out at info@justinemartinez.com before completing your order.

  • Most paintings arrive ready to hang. Panel board works include a wood floater frame by Ampersand with hanging hardware installed. Canvas works are unframed with wires for hanging installed. There is an add-on option for a floater frame to be included with a canvas painting.

  • Shipping fees vary based on the size of the work. You'll see the calculated shipping at checkout.

If you live in San Francisco, there is a flat local delivery free for any size painting. You will receive an email coordinating a delivery time and location.

  • Please allow approximately 2–3 weeks for careful packaging and shipping of your painting.

If you have selected to add-on a floater frame, an additional week may be needed.

  • Yes! San Francisco collectors can arrange home delivery by the artist for a flat fee. Delivery is coordinated through email after purchase.

  • All sales are final. Because each painting is a one-of-a-kind original, I'm not able to accept returns or offer refunds. Every piece is carefully inspected before shipment to ensure it meets quality standards. You may reach out with any questions or to request additional photos before purchasing. • Please document any damage immediately upon arrival with photos and contact me at info@justinemartinez.com. While all sales are final, I take great care in packaging and want to ensure you receive your work in the condition it left my studio.

  • Yes. I create custom paintings infused with elements of someone's spiritual journey and story. Whether it's a personal piece for your own space or a meaningful gift, I'd be honored to collaborate with you.

  • The process moves through five stages: initial inquiry and consultation, a formal agreement and deposit, creation with regular progress updates, final approval and payment, and then delivery, local pickup, or shipment.

  • Spiritual direction is the intentional practice of attending to God's movement in your everyday life. In our sessions, I listen and help you notice the Divine moving through your experiences, challenges, and longings. This historic faith practice creates a sacred space for you to hear more clearly.

  • I received my training from Nuos Formation, which grounds spiritual direction in both the contemplative historic roots of the practice and contributions from modern psychology. I also hold a degree in psychology and I'm an active member of the Evangelical Spiritual Directors Association (ESDA).
